The barrel and receiver are fitted with Unertl scope blocks. The left side of the stock is stamped with a post WWII "S.A." open box rebuild mark, and the stock lacks the serial number stamped on the underside ahead sling swivel on NM rifles. The bolt has been collector polished and electro-penciled with the rifle serial number. The receiver and bolt lack the additional gas port holes added by the Marine Corps to rifles manufactured prior to 1935. The muzzle is stamped with the star gauge mark found on National Match (NM) rifles, but the barrel lacks the NM star gauge number beneath the handguard. The rifle has a replacement SA barrel dated "6-39". 8 power Unertl sniper scope serial number 2588. This Springfield Model 1903A1 rifle was manufactured in 1934 and fitted with a surplus U.S.M.C.
